F.A.Q.S

This section covers many frequently asked questions & Rules . It helps answer any questions you may have.

  • Can I bring my dog or any pets? Typically we dont allow it as we can not guarantee the safety and well being of your animal on the water. we get questions alot like “ Will my dog be okay” , Again we can not tell you that and it is your sole responsibility as a pet mom or dad to know this already. We absolutely Love animals but DO NOT allow them on our Crystal boat or in our cabin rental. We suggest calling if you want to bring your dog in one of the sit ontop regular kayaks and after we go over the weight limit and safety information we may allow it. You must have a Lifejacket for your dog as well that is meant for dogs and we do not currently rent dog lifejackets. Thank you in advance.

  • Are there bathrooms? Our location varies. The hogscald access has no bathroom and the Big clifty park does have camp style bathrooms but NO Running water.Bring your own water.

  • Is there running water or a store? No. Neither at either location and thats why we insist you pack a small cooler of cold drinks and snacks. We do often have drinks for sale.

  • Do you sell sunblock? Not at this moment.

  • Can I bring a cooler? Yes a smaller sized one hard or soft shell in the regular boats is fine but No hardshells in the crystal kayak. Only soft coolers inside the crystal boat

  • Will I be charged for any damages to a regular kayak, The Crystal Kayak, or any equipment? YES

you will be charged for any damages that would need repair and charged in full for any replacements if needed. This is in Our Kayak , equipment, & Rental agreement risk acknowledgement waiver & Release which can be found under its own page on our website. It is required to have agreed that you clicked on the link directing you to this form and read it before booking a rental with us.

  • Where do we meet if we rented a kayak or Eco Tour? We meet at Big Clifty lake front park on Beaver lake at 5358 Buck road (county road 108) Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The address and map are on our location page as well. We do have another primitive public area that we launch from as well but location does vary between the two public ramps both located on Beaver Lake.

  • Do I have to sign a waiver or release form? YES . This is required before being able to book one of our rentals. The link to the documents are available when you are ready to complete your booking and our software requires that you have checked the box agreeing that you have read and understand the forms before you can then process your payment and receive a booking notification via text and email.

  • Is there a cancellation policy or Will I get a refund if I cancel for any reason including inclement weather such as rain or wind This is why we strongly suggest checking the weather forecast in our area before booking . We have included a weather link under our location tab at the bottom. We typically do not process refunds but can allow you to reschedule to a later time and date so that you can still enjoy your booking if weather arises or If there has been an emergency or family death we do consider making exceptions for something out of your control. When a booking is taken it then makes it unavailable for other guests and that is part of why we have this type of policy. If you let us know within 24 hours we can reschedule. NO shows are not eligible for rescheduling.

  • Will I get charged for bringing the boat back late ? YES. Coming back late takes time away from the next persons rental and you will be charged 75$ for every 30 minutes late that would likely Hinder & even stop the next persons rental as they may then be waiting for you to come back on shore. Please don’t let this scenario happen so that everyone can have a great day and enjoy their experience including you. We want everyone to have a great time! We are typically very lenient about people coming back much later but it depends on if we have any rentals booked after you.

  • Will we get wet? Maybe. Depending on the season and the weather on the day of your rental this may or may not bother you as much. We have scupper plugs for the kayaks . the ones that need them and these are designed when installed properly to keep water from getting in.

  • When Do I arrive for my kayak rental? You need to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled booking time so that we can go over safety and proper use instructions. We cannot wait for very long if we are all headed out on a tour especially. If you do a no call and no show we do not reschedule.

  • Can I invite any and all of my friends to come that are not paying guests and did not sign our Terms and condition kayak waiver and release form? NO. Definitely not or expect that you may be held liable for their actions and damages to any of our boats, equipment, or other rentals. The only people allowed in our boats are the people we rented them to.

  • What are the Terms and Conditions? The same thing as the Kayak, equipment, & Rental Agreement Risk acknowledgement & Release of liability form. Found under Our Homepage tabs and required to sign before booking.

  • Will I see any waterfalls? YES Most likely. Most of our waterfalls that flow into Beaver lake are fed by natural springs that flow about 11 months out of the year. The time of the year that they typically dry up is in very late summer around mid August to early September. It also depends on if we have had any rain recently as this helps keep the springs flowing.

  • Can we swim under the waterfalls on the lake? YES and it is such a cool experience. You are assuming your own risk when getting out of the kayaks anywhere on the lake and on the water. Rocks near and in waterfalls can be very slippery and dangerous. we do not advise trying to get to the top of any of them as most are private property at the top anyways. This is how many horrible accidents happen across the country actually and for this reason we would never suggest going to the top or climbing them. We can access the water below by floating by or swimming below and around them. In our opinion the view is much better and more fun from the bottom anyways.

  • Do I have to return the boats in the same condition they were rented? YES. We keep a very close eye on our inventory as we have to inspect each boat afterwards to ensure we are charging the right individual for any damages in the sad case that there may be any. So we are aware if there were scratches already there. We want everyone to have fun so please be mindful.

  • Do you sell branded gear with Wild Roam Outfitters logo on it so we can take a souvenir home or purchase some cool Wild Roam athletic outdoors gear and apparel? YES. Thank you for asking. We would love to send you home with something cool onsite or mail it to you . You will have to go to our website on your phone and make the purchase. We usually keep a small inventory with us in our company truck when we meet you at the boat ramp areas. You are welcome to check back on our website for new items and gear that will be showing up frequently throughout the year and each season. We do also have social media accounts and will likely post new gear and products there as well.

  • How many Crystal boats are there? we do have a smaller number of the crystal kayaks compared to our fleet of regular kayaks. So we suggest Booking ASAP to avoid missing your chance!

  • Are your Crystal kayak rates high? NO, In fact we actually have priced them much lower than the going rate around the country in every attempt to make this affordable so that everyone can enjoy this experience. They offer an extremely unique mind-blowing magical experience that we can guarantee you wont forget. It would be hard to go wrong since the boat is so cool! The boat itself is a bit pricey so yes that does have something to do with how we had to price the rental.

  • Can minors rent our boats alone or unattended by an adult? NO. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. We do not allow anyone under 55lbs to paddle. We carry youth lifejackets size 55lbs all the way to adult 2XL.

  • is there a weight limit? YES as the boat can only handle so much weight. 400 lbs max for our tandem Crystal kayak and all other kayaks are about 275lbs.

  • Are the Crystal Kayaks stable? YES The crystal kayak is very stable and navigates excellent on the water when you have used the skeg properly. It would take some really serious effort to tip any of our kayaks actually as all of them are very stable. We have floated in all of them ourself.

  • Do I need to have experience? You do need to have the minimum amount of skills requirement which would be that you can swim and you can follow directions while knowing how to use a kayak paddle to navigate the boat. You have signed a disclaimer stating that you can swim as well as be able to paddle the boat to any from shore where we launch. You don’t need to be a class 5 pro whitewater kayaker as this is typically just a tranquil calm slow moving float on the water. We will of course give you the run down and give you some extra pointers to make sure that you have a great time!
